Exploring Spiritual Practices: Hinduism

A Passage to Vedic India - by Pt. Vrajvihari Sharan Brahmachari
5:15pm-6:45pm, Tuesday 2nd December @ Room 2 (Upstairs), The Chaplaincy Centre, Potterrow (www.chaplaincy.ed.ac.uk)

As a part of the Exploring Spiritual Practices series hosted by the University of Edinburgh Chaplaincy, the Hinduism evening will be facilitated by the University's own Vedic Society (http://vedic.eusa.ed.ac.uk). The evening will seek to explore, explain and experience the Rituals of Hinduism with a Dhyana-Yoga (meditation) and Puja (ritual worship) together with a short talk on the philosophy behind them. The gathering is intended for those who have an interest in finding out about the practises of the Hindus and thus the group will be able to have intimate discussions in the question and answer session.

Once the ESP is concluded, please feel free to come for the vegetarian dinner and informal get-together downstairs in the main auditorium, hosted by the Vedic Society. Admission is free for all.

(Pt. Vrajvihari Sharan Brahmachari [www.nimbark.org] is the religious advisor to the Vedic Society, being a practising Hindu Minister (Pandit) and theo-philosophical lecturer. Having trained traditionally in India for 6 years, he is currently in the 3rd year of the MA(Hons) Sanskrit with the aim of translating philosophical sanskrit into simple english to enable all to have access to the Grand Philosophy of Ancient and Mediaeval India.)
