Holocaust Memorial Day 2015

Holocaust Memorial Programme for Edinburgh 2015

The Scottish Book Trust and Edinburgh Inter-Faith Association present:

‘Bringing Books to Life, Meet the Author’ an HMD sponsored event.

Elizabeth Wein talks about her novel, ‘Rose Under Fire’ which tells the story of Rose, an American ATA (Air Transport Auxiliary) pilot who is captured and sent to Ravensbrück. There, she meets a group of Polish political prisoners known as ‘The Rabbits’ who were subjected to horrific medical experiments at the concentration camp. It is The Rabbits’ determination that their story is heard and that what they have suffered is not forgotten which ultimately saves Rose’s life.
